EEF toolkit
Something I really like is the EEF toolkit. Below is a screenshot. The table shows cost, evidence estimate, and months progress. The important message in context of the UNESCO Mobile Learning Weekend is the relation of Digital Technology compared to other measures. Digital Technology has a positive impact, but the impact is smaller, and it's more expensive, compared to
- Feedback,
- Meta-cognition and self-regulation,
- Peer tutoring,
- Collaborative learning,
- Oral-language intervention (including dialogue, questioning, Thinking Together),
- Master learning (as opposed to rigid moving through the curriculum),
- Phonics, etc.
The table on its own would be simplistic, but if you look at http://educationendowmentfoundation.org.uk/toolkit/, you can click on the different topics, find out more, and (importantly) find links to the research literature to back up the figures for cost, evidence estimate, and months progress.
